Supporting Community Growth: A Boost for Sanctuary Garden

Sanctuary Garden has received a £1,500 award to help complete the structure of their main polytunnel — a milestone that will make a real difference to their growing plans for the year ahead.

This new investment will allow the team to purchase the essential materials needed to finish building the polytunnel, a key feature of the garden’s vision. Once completed, the structure will give volunteers a dedicated, sheltered space to grow seedlings and nurture plants right through the season.

And the impact reaches far beyond the garden gates. With the help of the polytunnel, Sanctuary Garden aims to produce one ton of fresh, organic food during the 2026 growing season — all of which will be donated directly to the community. From boosting access to healthy, home‑grown produce to supporting wellbeing through hands‑on volunteering, the project continues to grow both food and connection.

This funding strengthens a vital local initiative that brings people together, promotes sustainable living, and ensures more families have access to nutritious food. It’s an investment not just in a structure, but in the wellbeing of an entire community.
