In recognition of the wonderful service and commitment given by George to Dunfermline Art Club and its members, the George Aitken Award commenced in 2023 and is awarded annually at the Dunfermline Art Club Winter Exhibition.

The Carnegie Dunfermline & Hero Fund Trust has contributed to the Dunfermline Art Club over the years by awarding them various grants.

As a token of appreciation, George’s wife Nancy has kindly donated four of George’s beautiful Dunfermline artworks to the Trust. These paintings have been hung in Andrew Carnegie House and depict:

• Dunfermline Abbey

• The Andrew Carnegie Birthplace Museum

• Abbot House

• A montage of Dunfermline Heritage Quarter
