Supporting Dunfermline Bridge Club: Renewing the Andrew Carnegie Trophy for the Next Generation
The Carnegie Dunfermline Trust is pleased to consider provide a grant to Dunfermline Bridge Club, of £230 to replace their historic Andrew Carnegie Trophy - a cherished symbol of community, competition and companionship for four decades.
Originally presented to the club by the Andrew Carnegie Trust in 1985, the trophy has been awarded annually to the winning pair of the club’s prestigious Andrew Carnegie competition, an event held over two weeks and celebrated at the club’s AGM. After 40 years of proud winners, the current trophy has now run out of space for engraving, and the club is renewing this tradition with a new traditional silver cup inscribed with the original title.
A Social Hub at the Heart of Dunfermline
Dunfermline Bridge Club plays a vital role in local community life. Based at the Tennis and Bridge Club on Bothwell Street, it brings together around 70 members, ranging from those in their 30s to individuals well into their 90s - though most members are over 60.
