Woodmill High School Community Garden

Growing Community Connections at Oor Wee Garden

The Carnegie Dunfermline Trust is delighted to support Oor Wee Garden at Woodmill High School, a thriving community and school space that brings people together through gardening, learning and shared experiences. Our funding will help enhance the garden by creating accessible raised beds, providing adapted tools and seating, and carrying out essential repairs, ensuring the space can be enjoyed by people of all ages and abilities.

Oor Wee Garden has become a valued local hub, used by pupils, staff and a growing number of community volunteers, with families, youth groups and local organisations all taking part. The project not only offers opportunities to learn practical gardening skills, but also promotes wellbeing, confidence and social connection—particularly through its inclusive, intergenerational approach. By supporting improvements and new activities, including classroom growing and an outdoor garden library, this project will continue to flourish as a welcoming, accessible space for the wider Dunfermline community.
