Trustees Award £18,000 to Support Local Communities

At their August Board Meeting, the Trustees of Carnegie Dunfermline Trust were pleased to approve four grants totalling £18,000, supporting projects that will enhance community spaces, improve wellbeing and create opportunities for local people across Dunfermline.

Growing Pittencrieff Park's Laird's Garden

Friends of Pittencrieff Park (FoPP) received £6,000 towards groundwork and the installation of sleepers for the development of the Laird's Garden within Pittencrieff Park.

This investment will help create an attractive and accessible community space, enhancing one of Dunfermline's most cherished public parks and supporting the ongoing work of volunteers dedicated to its improvement.

Supporting Family Fun at the Christmas Lights Switch-On

A grant of £5,000 was awarded to Fife Council to support this year's Christmas Lights Switch-On event in Dunfermline.

The funding will contribute towards children's rides and a family tent, helping to ensure that the event remains a welcoming and enjoyable experience for local families and visitors as the community comes together to celebrate the festive season.

Investing in Volunteer Wellbeing

EATS Rosyth was awarded £5,000 for its Volunteer Wellbeing project.

The grant will support wellbeing activities and mental health initiatives for volunteers, recognising the vital contribution they make to their organisation and the wider community. By investing in volunteer wellbeing, EATS Rosyth aims to help people feel supported, valued and connected while carrying out their important work.

Improving Accessibility and Community Participation

A grant of £2,000 was awarded to Limelight Productions for its Community Connections project.

The funding will contribute towards accessibility improvements, as well as fixtures and fittings, helping to make activities and events more inclusive and accessible to a wider range of community members.

Strengthening Communities

These awards reflect the Trust's ongoing commitment to supporting projects that improve quality of life, strengthen communities and bring ‘sweetness and light’ for people across Dunfermline.
