Carnegie Dunfermline Trust Supports Christmas Light Switch-On with £5,000 Grant

The Carnegie Dunfermline Trust was pleased to approve a grant of a £5,000 to support 2025’s Christmas Light Switch-On event in Dunfermline. This much‑loved celebration brought families and community members together and we were delighted to help ensure it remains a joyful and welcoming occasion for all.

Funding Focused on Children’s Activities and Community Wellbeing

The grant specifically supported:

  • Children’s rides

  • Craft tent activities

  • Winter essential items for families attending the event

These elements played an important role in creating a festive, inclusive atmosphere for local children, many of whom look forward to this event each year.

To remain aligned with our charitable objectives and the Trust prioritises activities that enhance wellbeing, participation and community benefit.

A Partnership to Spread ‘Sweetness and Light’

We were pleased to continue partnering with Fife Council to help elevate the Christmas Light Switch-On event. The Trustees believe that supporting this community celebration closely reflects our long‑standing mission to spread “sweetness and light” throughout Dunfermline.

With large numbers of children and families taking part each year, the event embodies the spirit of community connection, joy and cultural enrichment that the Trust is committed to fostering.
