Carnegie Dunfermline Trust Supported New Kilts and Uniforms with £4,750 Grant
The Carnegie Dunfermline Trust was pleased to support a significant heritage project through the award of a £4,750 grant towards the purchase of new kilts and uniforms in the Dunfermline City Tartan. This funding will allow the organisation to begin the process of updating and enhancing its traditional attire, helping to preserve and celebrate the cultural identity of Dunfermline.
Strengthening Local Heritage Through Traditional Dress
The Trustees were delighted to approve this grant, recognising the importance of maintaining and promoting Dunfermline’s city status. The new kilts and uniforms represent more than just clothing - they symbolise community pride, continuity and celebration of the city’s rich cultural heritage.
The project supported both the replacement of older garments and the provision of additional uniforms, ensuring that the group could present a coordinated and professional appearance at future community events and ceremonial occasions.
A Project Moving Toward Completion
The production of the new kilts and uniforms was scheduled with local suppliers, with the garments expected to be ready by November 2026. This timeline allowed for careful craftsmanship and ensured the final pieces would reflect the quality and tradition associated with the Dunfermline City Tartan.
Aligned With Our Charitable Purpose
Supporting this initiative aligned strongly with the Carnegie Dunfermline Trust’s long‑standing commitment to enriching community life and preserving the cultural identity of Dunfermline. Investments in heritage strengthen local pride, encourage participation and help ensure traditions are passed on to future generations.
Proud to Support Dunfermline’s Identity
The Trust was pleased to contribute to this worthwhile project and looks forward to seeing the completed kilts and uniforms in use. Their presence at community events will serve as a visual reminder of Dunfermline’s vibrant traditions and enduring sense of place.
